“Cheeseburger in Paradise, with a Swagger”

Reviewed July 15, 2017 by kelly813 of Exton, Pennsylvania

After a long haul run around Pine Island from Matlacha, we approached the calm waters and slower speed of Cabbage Key. We idled past boats and slips, and kedged the personal water crafts into the small sandy-grassy beach. Walking up the hill, we met the tortoise the children were feeding. The three of us sat at an outdoor concrete mosaic topped table. A cheery server, Kaite S, welcomed us quickly. In but a short time, the young lady-with energy abounding-delivering the famed ‘cabbage creeper.’ The slushy, sweetness was just the perfect cocktail to sip under the shade of the table umbrella … Our orders arrived; 2 cheeseburgers and a grilled fish atop greens salad. My husband and niece raved about ‘the most delicious’ hamburgers EVER. My fish was also delicious. Food proved worthy of the adventure! Cabbage key was a food oasis in the water. We ended our lunch with 2 desserts, a typical key lime pie, and a chocolate-carpel-sweet-frozen-yummy thing. We rolled down the hill, after all that food, to the t shirt shop for a souvenir (great stocking stuffers) , before the water ride back. We are looking forward to returning, hoping Katie S. will be there, too.

“Pre-Anniversary Getaway”

This is was an amazing getaway. Cabbage Key is a quiet (except at lunch time) location in Southwest Florida. This is a peaceful, beautiful and unique place – my next trip will be more than 2 nights. The staff is fantastic, and very accommodating. Already planning our next trip to Cabbage Key

“Does it get any better??”

Reviewed April 20, 2016 by KTP7 of Asheville, North Carolina

My family and I spent a week at the Cabbage Key Inn in the Tarpon and Cabbage Patch cottages to celebrate my Dad’s retirement and birthday. My Dad and his family used to spend their vacations down there as a child, which is what brought us back to his old stomping grounds. It was amazing to hear how little had changed, however it still had all of the modern amenities that we could want! The staff is amazing- everyone is incredibly friendly and laid back. We had a blast meeting everyone and spending a week with them. Katie C was amazing- always trust her menu recommendations! She never steered us wrong and is good people. The food is wonderful- fresh caught fish every day prepared in a different fashion every night. The cocktails are awesome- maybe a little too good haha. But wash it down with one of their amazing cheeseburgers and you have an equation for a perfect day! The island is fun as there are always people coming and going from the restaurant and bar, but at night it quiets down and is magical with the relaxation that just innately washes over the place. It really is a tropical paradise. Thanks for a great stay!

My wife and I spent 5 nights in the Dollhouse Cottage for our honeymoon and it was epic. CK is adorable, unique, peaceful, beautiful and just incredible. This was the most relaxing vacation I have ever had. The location is perfect for exploring the area. We took our boat to Captiva for lunch and sight seeing, to Cayo Costa for…

“Excellent Stay”

Reviewed April 9, 2016 by bighamlin of Winter Garden, Florida

I and 2 of my business associates stayed 3 nights at the inn. This was the first time any of us have stayed here. We were simply blown away by the service we received, especially by Katie C. She remembered our names (Paul, Daryl and Andy), educated us with her knowledge of the island and the inn, and anticipated our every need. We ate all our breakfasts and dinners at the inn. While the menu was limited, it offered something for everyone, and the food was very good. Each of our rooms were different in size and design, but they were all comfortable and accommodating. I kept my boat at the dock out from the inn and had no problems.

We went the weekend to celebrate my birthday. Such a cute little place with a lot of character. we stayed in the actual inn, but there were cottages to rent if you need the extra space. Our server Debi was awesome! She had the best personality and made us feel super special and welcomed from the very beginning. The food was absolutely amazing too … Would definitely recommend this location :)

“R&R”

Reviewed December 29, 2015 by cabopc of Fort Myers, Florida

After visiting Cabbage Key a number of times over the years for lunch and always saying, “I’d really like to stay here sometime” my wife and finally did this November for our 10 year wedding anniversary. Cabbage Key did not disappoint … We stayed in the Cabbage Patch Cottage which was large, clean, fully equipped and in a good location. It was more space than the two of us needed. Because it has a full kitchen with all the supplies you need we brought a lot of food and made our own breakfast and lunch. They also provide a full size coffee maker. The cottage has it’s own dock which was great for parking our boat … Cabbage Key is an excellent place to stay for fishing. You’re in a prime location with great access to some of the best fishing in the state and if you hire a guide they’ll pick you up at the dock.
