Approximately 20 miles northwest of Ft. Myers and 5 miles south of Boca Grande, Cabbage Key is directly across from marker 60 on the Intracoastal Waterway. Sanibel and Captiva islands are 8 miles to the south.

Most major airlines fly into Fort Myers – Southwest Florida International Airport. A taxi from the airport will take you to Safe Harbor Pineland Marina on Pine Island where you will catch a water taxi to Cabbage Key.

Flying In Directions

Southwest Florida International Airport– RSW- is the closest Major Airport to Cabbage Key. Contact Pine Island Taxi at 239-283-7777 to arrange transportation to the catch the water taxi at Safe Harbor Pineland Marina.

Directions by Car

From the north on I-75, north of Punta Gorda, take exit #161 [Jones Loop Rd] and go right {west}. Drive about 1 mile to the intersection at US 41, cross 41 and continue straight on CR 765 [Burnt Store Rd]. Follow for 20 miles, then turn right {west} on SR 78 [Pine Island Rd] and go to Pine Island’s 4-way stop, then proceed as below**.

From south on I-75, take exit #136 [Colonial/884], which is one exit north of the airport exit [#131/Daniels Rd], and head west {exit ramp goes off to the right, then take a left at the light}. Stay on Colonial and follow signs for Veterans Pkwy, a bridge, which has a $2.00 toll. This will take you to SR 78 [Pine Island Rd], then take a left onto SR 78, and go to Pine Island’s 4-way stop and proceed as below**.

From I-75 at exit #143 [SR 78] or US 41, go west on SR 78 {also called Bayshore Rd or Pine Island Rd}, and follow to Pine Island’s 4-way stop {approximately 30 minutes from US 41 or 45 minutes from I-75}.

**At the 4-way stop, turn right onto Stringfellow Rd. Drive roughly 3 miles and turn left onto Pineland Rd. Follow Pineland Rd. around until it turns into Waterfront Dr. Look for Safe Harbor Pineland Marina on your left.

  • Barbecues: For the safety and convenience of all out guests and visitors, we regret that we cannot allow any barbecues on the island.
  • Pets: Unfortunately, we have had a number of issues with pets in the past.  In consideration of the large amount of natural wildlife and other guests on the island, we ask that no pets other than ADA service animals are allowed on premises.
  • Water Taxi: The water taxi services operate on a schedule. However, reservations are required.
